IDS PROVIDES FREE QUADRIVALENT FLU VACCINATION TO THE ELDERLY AT KRETA AYER
Saturday afternoon, November 12th 2016
Function Room, Level 2 Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
Our doctors, nurses and staff have continued our annual corporate social responsibility activities by providing free quadrivalent influenza vaccination to the elderly residents at Kreta Ayer. We have done free influenza vaccination for 7 consecutive years at Kreta Ayer. On November 12th, 2016, we provided vaccination for 354 individuals. Most of the vaccines were administered at the Function Room of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (BTRTS) as the Kreta Ayer Senior Citizens Activity Centre (KASAC) was still undergoing renovations. For the elderly who were not ambulant, we are grateful to a group of nurses from Metta Welfare Association who helped to administer the vaccines to these individuals in their flats.
Our efforts would not have been possible without the logistic support and kind assistance from staff and volunteers of BTRTS and KASAC. We also provided free influenza vaccinations to the volunteers.
Dr Lily Neo, Member of Parliament of Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng constituency of Jalan Besar GRC was there to grace the occasion. She also pitched in to vaccinate several of the residents from Kreta Ayer.
It was a most happy event for our staff and also for the elderly residents at Kreta Ayer who expressed their thanks for the free influenza vaccinations.
On a separate note, our group also donated 75 doses of the Northern Hemisphere quadrivalent influenza vaccines to Metta Home in Woodlands.
