For this year’s health promotion plan for employees, other than the pilates classes, the IDS Group team went on a healthy food trail with farm visits at Lim Chu Kang.
The food trail started with vegetarian food at Real Food at the Central. On the way to the restaurant, Serene Seng from Senserene gave a talk on having a balanced diet.
As the journey to Lim Chu Kang was long, the IDS team was given a quiz on workplace safety for healthcare workers. Dr Wong had earlier in the week sent out the modules on workplace safety for healthcare workers produced by WSH council. Congratulations to Wei Wei for being the winner with 17 correct answers out of 20 questions!
We then visited two farms, Hay’s Farm where we visited the areas where the goats were milked and each of us drank a bottle of goat’s milk, and then the QuanFa Organic Farm before proceeding to Bollywood Veggies.
At Bollywood Veggies, we had organic tea with banana bread. They were delicious! We then had a conducted tour where we learnt about the locally grown fruits like bananas, chillies, coffee beans and other plants.
Before being served an early dinner at Poison Ivy, Serene gave a talk on Conflict Management. A section with role play on how to manage conflict was included to reinforce some of the points. Before leaving Poison Ivy, each staff member was provided a small gift of exercise equipment which included a choice of a skipping rope, a roller, an aid to help do sit up or a twister. Hopefully all the team members will use it to exercise at home!
On the bus ride back and also in between, pop questions on healthy eating and also conflict management were conducted by Serene. Everybody brought home a prize each and a full stomach of healthy food!
