FREE INFLUENZA VACCINATION AT KRETA AYER COMMUNITY

17 November 2012

Our staff from the Infectious Disease Specialists group partnered with Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the Kreta Ayer Senior Citizens Activity Centre to provide free influenza vaccination to elderly residents of Kreta Ayer. This is the third consecutive year that we have been providing this free service.

Nine of us, together with help from nurses of Metta Welfare Association helped to vaccinate a total of 340 elderly persons on 17 November 2012. As before, the residents who were not ambulant were not forgotten as a team of nurses went to their apartments to administer the influenza vaccination to them.

Member of Parliament, Dr Lily Neo helped to grace the occasion and she also vaccinated several of the elderly.

Medics from ER ambulance were kind enough to provide emergency services. We also wish to thank Glaxo SmithKline for reducing the price of the vaccines.
